We always love it when Ernest comes to visit. Not only does he give us great new ideas and insight, he also reminds us why we are riding our horses - because it is fun! That is a message that is too often overlooked as we strive to get the most out of our animals and win competitions. His comments are always positive, encouraging and enthusiastic and keep us inspired long after he has returned to England.

Ernest has taught me from riding a 12.2 at pony club mini level through to now competing successfully at Junior Foxhunter and BE Novice. He has also helped with the transition onto my first horse. He has given me great confidence and I can trust that whatever he asks me to do, I will be able to do it. This is because he makes sure the basics are right first and builds up at a suitable pace. He always gives clear training principles so I know what to focus on between lessons. He makes sure I understand the exercises and why I am doing them, so I can see why I am improving. The targets he sets are achievable and he always stays positive which helps my confidence. Ernest is very patient, supportive and sympathetic so I look forward to my lessons and getting something constructive out of them.
