LAURA JENNING Four Star Event Rider, former European Junior and Young Rider Team Medalist
I first had a lesson with Ernest through my local Pony Club over 20 years ago, and I have had lessons with him ever since. He has trained me on a variety of horses – big, small, talented and not so talented – and he helped me progress from Pony Club competitions, up through Juniors and the Young Rider British team to my first four star event at Badminton. Ernest’s way of teaching is effective, fun and simple – and it all stems from a good canter. He is easy to understand, listens to any issues you may have as a rider and works with the individual combination that is in front of him. I really couldn’t recommend him highly enough – whatever level you’re at.

LEE JOHNSON US Showjumping Rider
I thoroughly enjoyed my time riding with Ernest Dillon. He managed to make the complex aspects of show jumping seem simple though his capable and sympathetic understanding of people, horses and the sport of show jumping. I will gladly ride under Ernest Dillon's tutelage again whenever the opportunity arises.

KATE ELESTONE Amateur Rider
I would consider myself a very nervous rider with goals that may seem modest to most. Ernest has had the dubious pleasure of teaching me for some years, over this time he has gradually built my confidence and skills through his coaching. He has always encouraged me to expand my comfort zone and push myself but has never asked me to do something I could not achieve , this level of trust in his expertise has allowed me to accept the challenges set and achieve my goals.
I never thought I would jump around a 80cm track competently with a huge smile and I would not even have attempted it had it Ernest assured me it would be ok. Thanks to Ernest the way I think about riding is more positive, I am determined to succeed in what I want to do and I always look forward to his next coaching session. Without his support I would have been a dressage rider that used to jump rather than a rider who enjoys dressage and show jumping.

VICTORIA BAKER Three Star Event Rider
I first had a lesson with Ernest in August 2011 as I felt I need a fresh pair of eyes to look at a particularly tricky horse, previous trainers had advised me to give up on him and sell him, but I had always believed in this horse and Ernest saw what I was feeling. He has inspired me to keep going with the horse and with Ernest’s help and training techniques which are very basic, simple and easy to understand, the horse is turning a corner and improving now that I am riding him differently we are starting to see his natural ability and scope.
Ernest has this ability to draw the best out of both horse and rider to enable you to ride to the best of your ability whatever your level. Ernest always gives me something to work on after each session and I look forward to the following sessions as I feel I am constantly learning and improving on all my horses.
